Scientist Lecture

On December 2nd, students from Form 3 and Form 4 at our school attended a lecture delivered by Professor Dennis Lo, the incoming president of Chinese University of Hong Kong. The topic was "Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing and Cancer Screening: From Dream to Reality." Professor Lo, known as the "Father of Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing," shared his experiences throughout his scientific journey during the lecture. He discussed the challenges and skepticism he faced in developing his non-invasive prenatal testing and cancer screening technologies, but ultimately achieved significant breakthroughs. He encouraged the attending students to aspire to become medical scientists in the future, contributing even more to society.
